Mancini reveals interest in Italian ace
Manchester City boss, Roberto Mancini, has revealed his interest in signing Roma’s star midfielder, Daniele De Rossi, labelling the Italian as ‘absolutely perfect’ for the club.
De Rossi currently has one year left to run on his contract and is engaged in talks with the capital club, regarding an extension.
Despite the imminent arrival of Samir Nasri from Arsenal, Mancini wants the Italian international to boost his options. He told The Sun: “I need something else in midfield because we have limited options.”
He added: “I have Barry, De Jong, Milner and Toure – but if you consider the number of games in the league, the Champions League and the FA Cup that is not enough. Daniele De Rossi would be absolutely perfect for this team and I rate him as one of the best midfielders in the world.”
