As Daniel Sturridge remains out with an injury and the Mario Balotelli experiment on edge, Brendan Rodgers should not sacrifice one of Liverpool’s stars in order to gather reinforcements.
Mauro Icardi has invited italian star to join Inter Milan, although the Serie A club appear to be focusing on other targets this winter.
The former AC Milan has been linked with a return to the Nerazzurri after failing to settle at Liverpool, with current Inter coach Roberto Mancini recently saying any club would want the Italian forward if he were to rediscover his best form.
“If he comes here, we’d be delighted to welcome him. He’s a fantastic forward.” said Icardi who has pledged his own future to Inter”
On other hand, The Red’s gaffer Rodgers already confirmed that he was not planning to release anyone.
“It is not something I have even thought about, to be honest. We have had a lot of games this season and a lot of competitions and at this moment the key for me is trying to keep this squad together” said Rodgers.
Icardi wishes are unlikely to be granted and now Inter reported to have focused their attentions on Paris Saint-Germain’s Ezequiel Lavezzi and Lukas Podolski of Arsenal.
