Nottingham Forest manager, Steve McClaren, has revealed the club are waiting only to speak to West Brom striker, Ishmael Miller, before the two clubs finalise a deal.
Forest join Leicester in having a bid accepted for the forward, but Albion boss, Roy Hodgson, believes that Miller will make the move to the Reds before he joins Sven Goran Eriksson’s revolution.
Speaking to the Nottingham Post, McClaren commented: “It is like a lot of players we have enquired about. It has got to the stage where we need to speak to the player and his agent. We will be looking to do that now over the next few days.”
Forest drew 0-0 at home with Barnsley in their opening league fixture last weekend, and McClaren claims the Championship are now more aware of what they need.
The manager added: “We have other irons in the fire as well. We will see what happens. You get a better idea of what you need once the season starts. League games are always the real test.”
