Suarez’s future remains unclear, but he is clearly part of Brendan Rodgers’ plans for this tour of Australia and he might have a big part to play on Wednesday.
The Reds are of course looking to build some momentum ahead of the new season, but they know this won’t be an easy encounter as the A-League outfit will be doing all they can to cause a bit of an upset here.
When looking at the betting, you can see that it is Liverpool who are the big favourites as they can be backed at 4/11.
Suarez won’t play the entire match, but he is sure to play a part and it is going to be interesting to see what sort of reception he gets from the travelling supporters.
Later on Wednesday, Sunderland and Tottenham Hotspur lock horns in the first round of the Asia Trophy.
These two Premier League outfits will go up against each-other for a place in the final of the tournament, which will be against either Manchester City or South China.
Andre Villas-Boas has had to deal with plenty of speculation as to the future of star man Gareth Bale this summer, but he looks set to remain a Spurs player at the moment and will have a big part to play here.
As for Sunderland, Paulo Di Canio has his first summer in charge of the club and will be looking to get preparations spot-on for the new season. The Black Cats might prove to be decent value here at 15/4.
Then, Manchester City and South China go head-to-head and it isn’t a surprise to see the former as the 1/8 favourites here.
New signings Jesus Navas, Alvaro Negredo and Stevan Jovetic have now all joined up with the squad, so could feature in this encounter and it is going to be interesting to see just how they get on.
Although this isn’t really an important tournament in terms of lifting the trophy, the Citizens will still be looking to come out on top.
The game that could prove to be the highlight of the day is Bayern Munich taking on Barcelona at the Allianz Arena.
This is a friendly encounter for charity and it of course sees Pep Guardiola take on his former side for the first time.
Bayern are being tipped as the 7/10 favourites for this one, but the best bet for the game could be for Barca’s Lionel Messi to break the deadlock, which is available at 9/2.
Although this match is only a pre-season friendly, it is an encounter between two of the best teams in the world and should be a cracking watch.
Wednesday looks to be an interesting day of action.
