Liverpool will close the first half of their 2014-15 Premier League campaign on Monday when they welcome Swansea to Anfield.
As the final Premier League match of 2014 sees the Reds to host their gaffer Brendo Rodgers’ former Swansea City, where he guided the side to promotion to the Premier League in 2011. Currently Swansea sit three points clear of his current one in the table.
Both sides enjoyed 1-0 victories on Boxing Day, with Swansea beating Aston Villa at home and Liverpool winning at Burnley, but the Reds have won just two of their last eight Premier League games at Anfield.
A win would see them draw level on points with the visitors, although the Welsh side possess a superior goal difference.
The Belgian goalkeeper, Simon Mignolet will return in the Liverpool goal at the expense of the injured Brad Jones. He had been dropped by manager Brendan Rodgers, but was called upon from the bench when Jones suffered a thigh injury against Burnley on Boxing Day.
Fabio Borini returns to the squad following suspension but defenders DejanLovren and Glen Johnson (both groin) and Jon Flanagan (knee) are still not fit.
The Italian star, Mario Balotelli will probably sit on bench again, as Jamaican-born Raheem Sterling is performing well for the Reds in the absence of Englishman Daniel Sturridge.
