Mike Trout, 19, called up to the bigs

The Los Angeles Angels have called up phenom OF Mike Trout to the big league club. Trout is one of the top prospects in all of baseball. The Angels will be counting on Trout to fill their need in center field after Peter Bourjos injured his hamstring Thursday against the Seattle Mariners.

Trout is hitting .324 this season at Double-A Arkansas with 9 Home Runs, 27 RBIs, and 28 Stolen Bases. He is expected to be in the lineup Friday against the Mariners where he will be the youngest player currently in Major League Baseball.

The Angels have not commented on rather this is just a short term move due to injury or if they expect Trout to stay with the big club after Bourjos returns. Bourjos is hitting .272 with 3 Home Runs, 17 RBIs, and 11 Stolen Bases.
