England are on their travels yet again on Tuesday evening as they are involved in an eagerly anticipated World Cup Qualifying match against group leaders Montenegro.

The Three Lions were impressive, clinical and professional in San Marino on Friday night as they ran-out 8-0 winners. This result not only improved goal-difference, it also gave the squad a big confidence boost ahead of this clash.

Roy Hodgson’s men are two points behind Montenegro, so if they want top spot in this group and automatic qualification to the 2014 World Cup, they need a result on Tuesday night.

Steven Gerrard was rested for the match against San Marino and the England captain is sure to come back into the starting eleven for this clash.

Gerrard is a player that relishes these big matches and he will be ready for action after sitting on the bench last week.

Wayne Rooney did play in that match though and scored a free-kick before being substituted in the second half. Rooney is likely to be leading the line again on Tuesday and along with Gerrard, could hold the key to England’s chances of winning this one.

The Manchester United forward will also feel as though he has something to prove here as he was sent off in Montenegro back in 2011, which of course led him to miss the first two matches of Euro 2012.

Although Montenegro have been impressive in this campaign so far, Hodgson knows if his men are at their best, then they should win this one quite comfortably. Unsurprisingly, the away team are the favourites to come out on top at 3/4.

As for the hosts, they will delighted with how they have played in their first five qualifying matches, but know how tough this one is likely to be as they take on and England side full of confidence and relatively fresh after such a comfortable game last time out.

Montenegro didn’t have it quite so easy in their 1-0 win over Moldova as they played half-an-hour of the game with ten men and really had to grind out a result.

That encounter showed that this squad are capable of winning matches when the pressure is on them and that they have a lot of character, so the home team should also be in good spirits coming into this one.

Stevan Jovetic hasn’t got himself a goal in the qualifying campaign yet, which may surprise a few as he has been clinical for Fiorentina in Serie A, scoring 12 goals in 24 games this season.

The striker is an exciting prospect though and should look to this game as a chance to show what he can do on the biggest stage. At 11/1, the 23-year-old looks good value to break the deadlock on Tuesday night.

Montenegro can be backed at 4/1 for the win, so they are considered the outsiders, despite being on top of the group and on home soil.

With plenty at stake and both teams sure to play an attacking style of football, this should be a very entertaining 90 minutes.
