Sussex cricketer Monty Panesar has very much sealed his future by agreeing a new three year deal to remain at Hove until at least 2015.
The spinner has taken 121 wickets over the last two seasons and although it has been a mixed patch of success at England level, his form has naturally been rewarded by the Sussex board. Panesar first joined the South coast county in 2009 when moving from Northamptonshire and has reached 69 wickets in his second season.
Manager Mark Robinson feels the side are lucky to have such a quality spinner in the side.
“Monty is one of the best finger spinners in the world and we know how lucky we are to have him here at Hove.”
Meanwhile Monty was also very happy to have been offered the new deal and is look to retain a spot within the England camp.
“I aim to repay their faith by continuing my good form in all formats of the game whilst also improving my chances of reclaiming my place in the England side,”
