Mourinho set for 2012 Premier League return?

It has emerged that Jose Mourinho could be making his comeback to the English Premier League earlier than expected after an altercation at the Santiago Bernabeu.

It’s understood that the Portuguese boss has had a falling out with some of his playing staff as well as some of the club’s board.

One option being discussed as a result of the tiff is that the 48 year-old may take over the reins at White Hart Lane should Harry Redknapp decide to take the job as England manager.

Mourinho was being linked with a move to Old Trafford to replace the aging Sir Alex Ferguson in some seasons’ time, however it looks unlikely that he will stay at the Madrid outfit for that long a period now.

Despite their league position five points clear of Barcelona at the summit of the Primera Division, it’s thought that Mourinho argued with Madrid star Sergio Ramos regarding the player’s marking in last week’s loss against Barcelona.

The news – which comes as the result of a leak to Spanish paper Marca – also goes on to say that Ramos commented on Mourinho’s lack of playing career, meaning that he can’t understand some aspects of the match.

The leak has resulted in a portion of the Real Madrid support jeering at Mourinho during the side’s 4-1 win over Atletico Bilbao on Sunday, doubtlessly leaving Mourinho bemused.

The former Chelsea boss may have put Real in the driving position of La Liga but that doesn’t seem enough for some and a return to England may be imminent.

Mourinho has made no secret of his desire to come back in a managerial role one day and may be tempted by Tottenham who seem to be heading nowhere but up.

Harry Redknapp has done a fantastic job for the North London side over the past three years which has led to the England manager speculation, which he has labelled as ‘tempting’.

Spurs fans will be upset to lose out on the man who has led them to a steady position in the Champions League spots, however the glittering resumé of Jose Mournho isn’t a bad alternative at all.
