Napoli claim Tottenham Hotspur have not bid for Ezequiel Lavezzi

Napoli claim no contact has been received from Tottenham for LavezziSerie A side Napoli have insisted that no contact has been made by Tottenham Hotspur regarding a transfer for their in-form striker Ezequiel Lavezzi.

Lavezzi, who turned 26 years old earlier this month, has been the subject of a rumoured bid from the White Hart Lane outfit but this was denied by Napoli’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis who claims the club are not a supermarket.

When asked if there had been any interest from Tottenham Hotspur for Lavezzi De Laurentiis replied.

“Lavezzi? I have never spoken to Tottenham, I ask the fans to be calm, when the transfer market opens everyone wants to buy but 95% of the time, it’s just gossip.”

The Napoli president added.

“We are not a supermarket, perhaps we are an expensive jewellery shop and as soon as people see the prices, they are scared away.”

Should a bid be forthcoming from the North London side then Tottenham is seems will need to pay a substantial amount of money should they feel the “jewellery” is worth bringing to the Premiership.
