QPR boss Neil Warnock has just about put an end to rumours linking Peter Crouch with the club, claiming the striker would have to take a considerable pay-cut to re-sign for his former club.
Crouch moved to Queens Park Rangers in 2000 for the modest sum of £60,000. However, his price-tag has risen considerably over the past ten years.
Despite only spending one season at Loftus Road, Crouch states: “I’ve got a lot of affection for the club, and loved playing down there when I was young. I certainly wouldn’t rule out ever playing for QPR again.”
30 year-old Crouch has seen a slump in his success at Tottenham recently and the England international has been linked with a move away.
Despite this news, Neil Warnock remains disparaged regarding the rumours, telling the Fulham Chronicle: “If Crouchy wants to fit into the QPR wage structure, I’d welcome with open arms. But something tells me that isn’t going to happen.”
