New Chelsea signing happy to help side to win

New Chelsea FC signing Romelu Lukaku has said it was an “amazing” experience to play his first role for Chelsea against Norwich and that he is happy to have been part of the side to help the team win.

Lukaku was used as a late replacement on Saturday against a stubborn Norwich City in which the Stamford Bridge club came out on top winning 3-1.

Lukaku told the official club website:

“I nearly scored a goal but I was just happy to help the team to another win, if you’re helpful to the team then the goals will come. Norwich played very well, they had very good wingers and a striker who caused problems but we managed to play well and we won, which is the most important thing, it was a hard battle but we got the three points. Now we have to continue like that.”

On his debut for Chelsea and the fans’ reception, Lukaku added:

“It was amazing, I want to thank them and I want to be helpful to the team and bring some titles back here to Stamford Bridge. I did my best today and hopefully I can continue like that and help the team.”
