Mark Hughes is set to complete a move for his first new recruit in Brazilian wonder-kid Henrique.
The 20-year-old is regarded as one of the hottest prospects in Brazil and is a vital player for the national Under-20 side.
The Sao Paulo striker was part of the squad which lifted the World Youth Cup last year, whilst he also finished the tournament as top-scorer.
Despite interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe, with the well-known names in Spain, Italy and Germany all believed to be interested; it looks as if QPR are set to land him, making Henrique the first signing since Mark Hughes’ reign began last week.
Even though the deal is thought to only be a loan move, it looks likely that the transfer will include an option for QPR to be able to sign the player on a permanent basis in 2013.
Henrique himself refused to speak about the speculation, saying: “I don’t know anything” when asked.
But, his manager Emerson Leao, insists that the player will be leaving the club.
“Our president [Juvenal Juvincio] is doing what he promised,” he said.
“I wanted to see people fighting for a place. He understood it was time for a change and these changes aren’t over.
“Henrique could leave tomorrow or any time soon.”
