Newcastle manager, Alan Pardew, is hoping to sign Inter left-back, Davide Santon, as they continue their search to replace Jose Enrique.
Enrique departed for Liverpool in a £6m deal earlier this month. The Magpies were expected to swiftly replace the Spaniard with PSV defender, Erik Pieters, who could yet make the move to St. James’ Park.
20 year-old Santon is widely regarded as one of Italy’s hottest prospects, and the Italian giants are thought to be open to offers, given the current financial woes the club is experiencing.
The Italian international has also attracted interest from Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City, signalling the quality that the wing-back has displayed so far.
