Newcastle launch late bid for Championship enforcer
It’s understood that Newcastle have made a last-ditch attempt to sign Birmingham City centre-back, Liam Ridgwell.
It’s unknown at this time the amount that has been offered for the defender, but the Blues could be tempted to sell should the amount be right.
Ridgewell would be the third player to join the Birmingham exodus on transfer deadline day, with Scott Dann and Cameron Jerome apparently completing moves to Blackburn and Stoke City, respectively.
Ridgewell was reported to have had a transfer request rejected by the club earlier today, but is still thought to be keen on leaving Chris Hughton’s side.
