Newcastle United after another Frenchman as Pardew spots another jewell

Is Tafer next on Pardew's list at Newcastle UnitedNewcastle United manager Alan Pardew should certainly be smiling as we head into the international break. Seven games, fifteen points, still unbeaten and currently fourth in the Premiership.

With all the fuss that was made about Joey Barton leaving, the Newcastle boss will certainly be thinking that things have gone well, especially as many critics had expected the North East side to be heading back to the Championship this season.

The truth of it all is that Pardew and his team of scouts have picked out players that even Arsene Wenger would have been proud of. Bringing Cabaye in could be considered genius, a player who is certainly looking to make an impact at the club, and then there is the former Manchester United winger Gabriel Obertan, who failed to shine at Old Trafford, but who is making the right decisions on the field at St. James’ Park.

Now it seems that Pardew is still after one more player and that he may be considering a move for French striker Yannis Tafer of Lyon who is currently on loan with Toulouse. The 20 year old has failed to find the next in the league for either side in just over 25 appearances however for the French national sides from U17 through to U20, he found the net on 27 occasions in 52 appearances – that’s some ratio.

Many Newcastle fans will probably be expecting a big name player to join, after all is there not a bit of money left from the Andy Carroll transfer? Andy who you may ask? The ability this summer of Pardew and his scouting team to pick some rabbits out of a hat has not gone unnoticed and Tafer is one player that Newcastle United are considering bringing in as early as January.

Forget the big name players with the big price tags, Newcastle United no longer want to risk playing roulette but they will take a chance on talent where only a bigger and perhaps better platform is required.
