Newcastle United enforcer may miss Stoke City trip

Tiote could miss the trip to Stoke CityNewcastle United midfielder Cheick Tiote could miss his first match of the Premiership season against Stoke City at the weekend after picking up a knock in their recent 1-0 victory over Wigan Athletic last weekend.

The 25 year old has been immense this season having already impressed numerous parties last season. The player had even been linked with a move away to both Old Trafford and Manchester United and North London side Arsenal. His performances impressed Newcastle United so much last season that they even offered a fresh 6 year deal to ward of any interested parties.

However the next away trip could well be without Tiote whom has led the Tyneside club on an unbeaten run so far this season, matching only that of Roberto Mancini’s Manchester City.

Whilst Tiote will certainly miss the Carling Cup clash against Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday evening there is still slim hope that the Ivory Coast international could make the trip to the Britannia Stadium.
