Newcastle are the latest club said to be interested in acquiring the signature of Werder Bremen winger, Marko Marin.
The German international has already been linked with several top European clubs from both inside the Premier League as well as outside. Both Arsenal and Tottenham are said to be leading the race to sign the midfielder, but Newcastle won’t be deterred as they look to build on their magnificent start to the season.
Marin first made headlines as a teenager at Borussia Monchengladbach, and the speculation didn’t weaken after a 2009 move to Werder Bremen. The winger also has 16 caps for the German national side under his belt – an impressive tally at the age of 22.
Despite some criticism of inconsistency, the maestro no doubt has the potential to shine, and one could argue that when surrounded by the right players, this particular talent could unlock his true potential.
Newcastle have balanced their books well over the past year and have decent funds available to be making moves in the January transfer window.
That being said, the Magpies may still opt out of any deal, choosing not to spend £15m on a player who many say can’t hold form well.
