Newcastle United to receive Gameiro confirmation this week
Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew is hoping to hear this week if their offer for Gameiro will be accepted by 24 year old striker Gameiro this week.
There has been huge speculation since Andy Carroll’s departure as to who the Magpies would be purchasing as a replacement this summer but recent reports claim there is an offer on the table for the Frenchman.
It has also been reported though that Gameiro would prefer a move to Valencia in Spain but Pardew insists it’s a case of wait and see.
“We’ve given a player a deadline this week, so that will be interesting, we are pitching for a striker that we bid for, that’s been reported. We’re hopeful on that but we’ll have to wait and see. There’s no real feedback from the club on that. And we’re pitching for another couple of players.”
Pardew also admits his disappointment regarding the Joey Barton situation but assures fans they will be buying player this summer.
“If I was a Newcastle fan, we’re making the right noises on that front. I’m sure the fans are disappointed about the Joey Barton situation but we are trying to take the club forward by signing players.”
