The highly talented midfielder was sent out on loan to Leicester City by Louis van Gaal but the manager has brought him back to the club.
After being given enough chances to prove his worth during preseason, Louis van Gaal chose to send midfielder Nick Powell to Leicester City in order to get some Premier League experience under his belt. However, it appears that the season long loan move has not had the desired effect on the young Englishman who has not been used a lot by The Foxes.
The 20 year old has made only three appearances for the bottom of the table side – something that has infuriated the Manchester United coaching staff that was keen on seeing the hot prospect get some much needed EPL experience before being slowly put in the first team at Old Trafford.
And with just 40 minutes of game time in the league, the youngster has been recalled by the club.
Leicester’s statement on their official website read, “Leicester City would like to thank Nick for his contribution during the last four months and wish him well in the future.”
With the January transfer window open, Van Gaal is likely to send him over to another club where he can be guaranteed enough game time.
