Norwich City keen to loan Premier League starlet duo

In an effort to maintain their hopes of a Premier League mid-table finish, Norwich City are looking to take youngsters Nathan Delfouneso and Emmanuel Frimpong off the hands of Aston Villa and Arsenal, respectively.

The Canaries have performed impressively so far this season, making Carrow Road somewhat of a fortress, conceding only three losses at their home ground.

That being said, the side still ground to make up when playing away from home and manager Paul Lambert will be hoping that an influx on new faces in January will achieve just that.

Due to financial constraints of the Norfolk outfit, Lambert made a number of fairly small-money transfers over the summer as well as some loan signings, all of whom have performed admirably over the first half of the campaign.

The Scot is now looking to build on a solid foundation and bring the young duo to his side on a temporary basis.

Frimpong has impressed this season, filling in to the Gunners squad where necessary due to a string of injuries the club suffered at the start of the season.

Despite his sending off against Liverpool, the Ghanaian-born defensive midfielder has earned praise from critics, with some looking favourably upon his tenacious style leading to comparisons with teammate, Alex Song.

Delfouneso has similarly found himself spending an unenviable amount of time on the sidelines at Villa Park.

The striker – who is also capable of functioning on the wing – came through the Villa youth system and gained a decent amount of playing time under Martin O’Neill.

However, the Northern Irishman is now at the Sunderland helm and Alex McCleish doesn’t seem to admire the England U-21 forward as much.

As a result, the 20 year-old may favour a move to another Premier League side as he looks to get more first-team football under his belt.

Both starlets would love to gain more time on the pitch with their parent clubs, however a move to Norwich could provide the opportunity to shine that they have been waiting for.
