Norwich City manager Paul Lambert has confirmed the club will release three players this summer at the end of their contracts.
30 year old midfielder Matt Gill who has spent spells at both Peterborough United and Walsall on loan since his arrival in 2009. Defender Jens Askou, who turns 29 this summer is apparently returning home to Denmark and youngster Sam Habergham will also be looking for a new club.
Lambert was particularly please with Gills input over the years claiming he has been a top professional.
“Matt Gill is away and will be looking for a new club and Jens as well, Gilly was brilliant and was a top, top pro. You could put him in the same bracket as Michael Nelson, really he was brilliant for the club and it’s a sore one when you tell him because he’s the type of lad he is.”
The Norwich City manager continued.
“He was a great pro, one of the best I’ve seen and that’s the highest compliment I can give him. Those sorts of players are important to have around the place. Jens as well, he’s going back to Denmark and I’m sure he’ll make a career for himself.”
“I’d also like to wish Sam all the best too with his future career.”
