Norwich City to try audacious bid for former loanee

Bentley is under the Norwich City microscope but will Spurs sell him on?Reports from the East of England are suggesting that Norwich City are preparing a possible offer for their former loanee and current Tottenham Hotspur midfielder David Bentley.

The 26 year old is currently on loan at Birmingham City but things have not gone as well as planned at St. Andrews with Bentley making only 10 appearances under Alex McLeish.

Should Norwich City win promotion to the Premier League this season then they will look to make Bentley one of their priority signings and with his form dictating value, he could be available very reasonably for the Canaries. They will also be one club who will be able to offer him much more playing time that his last three clubs.

Should Tottenham’s Harry Redknapp believe it is time for the North London club to cut their losses then they will look to sell rather than loan him out again. With a lack of appearances for Birmingham too (Ten since January), it is unlikely that Birmingham will want to keep the winger past the summer of 2011.

Bentley first played for Norwich City in 2004 where he made 26 appearances, scoring two goals in the process.
