Norwich Wigan Odds : Canaries to heap more misery on Martinez
Norwich City will be looking to return to winning ways this weekend when they host bottom of the table Wigan at Carrow Road on Sunday afternoon as their odds of 10/11 with Betfred look plenty of value.
The Canaries have lost their last two Premier League games and even though these were narrow defeats – at the hands of Manchester United and Stoke City – there is no doubt that three points is a must this weekend.
After all, Paul Lambert’s men probably only need one more victory to confirm their Premier League status. Victory on Sunday would take them to 38 points and many believe this is enough to ensure survival.
Not that Norwich have any immediate danger of being dragged into a relegation battle of course. After a superb season – during which they have been as high as 8th – the newly promoted club sit in 11th, 13 points above the bottom three.

They do have a tough run-in though, so the sooner they can stop even the slightest worry of relegation the better. At home to bottom of the table Wigan seems like the perfect opportunity.
The Latics are fighting for their lives though, so they will go into this one looking to get something. They may well be bottom, but they are far from cast adrift as they sit just two points from safety going into this weekend.
Roberto Martinez will be demanding a response to the 2-0 home defeat to Swansea City too. Chairman Dave Whelan publicly spoke of his disappointment following the ‘worst performance’ since he had been at the club and Wigan now need to raise their game.
Looking at the team news for this one, Norwich could hand a first start to new signing Ryan Bennett, while Wigan are without David Jones and Mike Pollitt. Victor Moses, Mohamed Diame and Hugo Rodallega could all start the game though.
When these two met on the opening day of the season, they played out a 1-1 draw at the DW Stadium and many are expecting a similarly tight contest from 4pm on Sunday afternoon.
