Reports from the midlands are claiming that Nottingham Forest could be preparing a summer offer for Birmingham City striker Kevin Phillips.
Phillips, who will be 38 this July can still score at the highest level however the St. Andrews club, currently under Alex McLeish will be looking to “freshen things up” next season meaning they could allow the former Sunderland striker to leave.
The striker remains on a one year extension from 2010 meaning he could be playing at the City Ground next season courtesy of a free transfer. A lot will however depend on results over the up and coming months with Birmingham fighting relegation and Nottingham Forest, despite a poor run of form, still looking to slip into the promotional play off positions and a potential Premiership campaign.
Whilst the 37 year old may not be one for Forest’s future he remains a player that can score goals and with Forest only netting 52 so far this season, many believe it is goals more than defensive issues that need to be looked into.
