Olympics Football Semi Final with Brazil taking all the money as Mexico, South Korea and Japan battle it out for Gold

The men’s football at the Olympic games has reached the quarter-final stages as Paddy Power announce a free bets offer on the Olympics and report all the money has been for Brazil to take the Gold medal, as the South American side odds shorten.

Four teams, Mexico, South Korea, Japan and Brazil will be battling it for a place in the final.

Great Britain are not involved after they were knocked out in the quarter-finals on penalties of course, but both games should be extremely entertaining.

The first semi-final – taking place from 5pm on Tuesday – sees Mexico and Japan go head to head. Both of these teams will be delighted to make it this far and now they want to progress to the final to guarantee a silver medal at the very least.

Looking at their path to the semi-finals, Mexico are unbeaten so far having kept a clean sheet in three of their four games. They also came through a tense quarter-final with Senegal, winning 4-2 after extra-time.

As for Japan, they have a number of extremely talented young players and this has been on show over the last week or so. They haven’t conceded a goal as yet and in the last game – a 3-0 win over Egypt – they put in their best performance so far.

They will be hoping that they have peaked in form at just the right time, ready to qualify for the final of the Olympics games.

The second semi-final sees Brazil and South Korea go head to head from 7.45pm. Brazil were the pre-tournament favourites of course and they are the team to bet.

With Neymar in their ranks as well as a number of other incredibly talented players, they are the team everybody wants to see and they are the team that everybody wants to beat.

In reality though, nobody has come close as yet. On their way to the semi-finals, Brazil have scored three goals in each game. They were given a slight scare in the last eight when they went 2-1 down to Honduras, but they bounced back in the style of Champions.

As for South Korea, they were the team to knock out Great Britain on penalties. Now, they will hope to dust themselves down and go again. They know the task will be tough, but this is a team that has grown in confidence with each game during the Olympics.

Overall, we are set for two fascinating semi-final matches from 5pm on Tuesday evening.
