Pablo Zabaleta says team will help Tevez through tough time

Manchester City defender, Pablo Zabaleta, says that his international teammate, Carlos Tevez, will have the aid of his teammates as he struggles to get through his chaotic time at the Etihad Stadium.

The striker ignited more controversy on Tuesday night, when he refused to be substituted on in the 2-0 loss against Bayern Munich in a Champions League group game.

Tevez has now been suspended by the club pending a full investigation, and will surely fuel more transfer speculation in January after he came close to a transfer away over the summer.

The Argentine has twice voiced his desire to leave the Citizens, labelling Manchester a ‘cold and wet place’ and saying that he never wanted to return from his holiday in native Argentina.

Zabaleta sympathises with the 27 year-old, commenting: “He has been a really important player for us in the last two years but maybe this season he has had more games on the bench.”

He added: “We need to accept that sometimes we are on the bench but we always have to be looking to get into the team.”

Record signing, Sergio Aguero, is also sorry that his international and club teammate is in such a state of turmoil, but has stated that the situation needs to be resolved.

The £38m man noted: “He puts through his opinions and ideas, and obviously makes his decisions. We just have to go with it.”

He went on to say: “It does make me sad. But they are two grown men and maybe they will sort it out.”
