The youngster has impressed everyone with his performances for the first team this season under Van Gaal but with no deal in place, faces an uncertain future at the theatre of dreams.
Paddy McNair has been one of the bright points about Manchester United this season. Injuries to the senior center-backs has provided the young Northern Ireland international with an opportunity to prove his worth. And the defender has showed that he can cut in following a number of impressive performances at the heart of United’s defense.
However, Manchester United has so far failed to negotiate a fresh deal with McNair which has fuelled speculation that the youngster could leave Old Trafford. McNair along with his teammate, Taylor Blackett, have yet to agree on a new deal and time is running short for the club to tie down the duo before they chose to look elsewhere, with the likes of Arsenal and other Premier League clubs lurking to snatch away the promising pair from the clutches of Manchester United.
Manchester United a reportedly in the market for a new center-back but they should not let McNair and Blackett leave even if they manage in signing a world class defender, because they are the future of the club.
