Pair Impressed with Arsenal Midfielder

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and captain Robin Van Persie both spoke words of praise about Tomas Rosicky following his impressive performance which helped turn Wednesday’s Champions League Play-off game in Arsenal’s favour.
At half-time the Gunners were 1-0 down and looked likely to be heading out of Europe’s biggest competition, however second half goals from Van Persie and Theo Walcott won the game for Arsenal and sent them to the Group Stage for a 14th consecutive year.
Rosicky has suffered a lot from injuries over the past three seasons and Arsenal’s medical staff worked hard to get the Czech international fit for the second leg as he looked doubtful to be fit in time for the game. The midfielder gave Wenger’s side more control and creation after replacing Emmanuel Frimpong at half time.

“I felt that we lacked a little bit of creativity in the middle of the park and needed to be a little bit more creative,” said Wenger. “Tomas had a big influence in the second-half.”

Van Persie added: “I believe Tomas was incredible. He came on, played incredibly well and credit to him and the team.”
