Palermo stand ready to announce the club that star playmaker, Javier Pastore , will be heading to this summer.
The Rosanero announced earlier in the week that they had accepted a £39m bid from the now Qatari-owned Paris-Saint-Germain, but have since then claimed that Chelsea are still in the race for his signature.
Chelsea are suspected to have submitted a similar offer and Palermo president, Mauricio Zamparini, says the deal will be finished soon. He told RMC Radio: “At the moment we are waiting and will make a decision in the next few days, after tomorrow’s Europa League game against Thun.”
New PSG manager, Leonardo, has stated his interest in sealing the move of the 22 year-old, saying: “It’s true, I have a good rapport with Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini and everyone would like a player like Pastore.”
If Chelsea lose out on Pastore, they are expected to turn their full attention to Tottenham’s Luka Modric.
