Nearly one month after signing on a five-month loan deal with Manchester City, David Pizarro has stated his happiness with life at the club.
The former Chilean international moved to the Etihad Stadium on a temporary transfer from Roma but has already made an impact for the Citizens.
The 32 year-old made his second appearance for City in their second-leg Europa League fixture against title holders Porto.
Despite only coming on for the last ten minutes, Pizarro managed to get on the scoresheet and set up a goal for David Silva also.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Pizarro said: “I am very happy because it was an important game. There are games when everything goes well and this was one of those games. It went well for me and also for the team.”
He added: “The team have been excellent, they have made me very welcome and Manchester has also been fantastic, so everything is going well. The fans have made me feel very welcome, I had that feeling straight away when I started. I know that I can also contribute to them so both parties are very happy.”
The South American veteran will remain with Roberto Mancini’s side for the rest of the season, and although it’s uncertain whether the playmaker’s move will be made a permanent one, it’s a possibility.
This is Pizarro’s second chance working with Mancini after spending a season together at Internazionale and the duo seem to be enjoying each other’s company so far, with the manager noting: “I am happy for him, for Pizarro. I think he is a high-quality player and he could be a good option for us in the next two months.”
