Premier League clubs to form transfer triangle over Bundesliga superstars

In what could potentially be one of the most surprising Premier League returns in recent history, the English elite have been put on high alert after hearing that superstar winger Arjen Robben may be ready to leave Bayern Munich.

The news has started to circulate after the Bundesliga outfit stated their interest in Borussia Monchengladbach talisman, Marco Reus.

Reus has been in superb form for Die Fohlen this campaign, scoring eleven goals in only 16 appearances for the surprise side of the 2011-12 campaign.

Despite both players moving to their current clubs in 2009, 22 year-old Reus has made 22 more appearances over the past two years as Robben has struggled to cope with a recurring hamstring injury.

The 27 year-old’s inconsistent appearances are thought to have frustrated the Munich outfit to the point where they are considering the sale of the attacker, regardless of his exploits when fully fit.

Robben came to England in 2004 after completing an £18m switch that saw him trade the colours of PSV for the Blue of Chelsea, where he spent three successful seasons.

With wingers on their wishlists, the revelation is thought to have interested Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal in particular.

Marco Reus has told of his intent to stay in Germany, and is expected to complete the transfer next summer when a buyout clause in his contract means that he will be available for £16m.

It’s at this point when Robben is also expected to move as the 2010 Champions League finalists make way for emerging German star, Reus.

The Dutchman still won’t go cheaply, as any sides concerned will have to take his proneness to injury into account meaning the transfer would be expected to cost around £26m.

Although Robben has only made 66 appearances in the past 30 months, no one can argue that he isn’t a top class winger when full fit and would be a welcome return to the English top flight.
