Premier League duo join chase for Man Utd star

Premier League giants Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly set to join a pack of clubs in the chase for Manchester United’s teenage star Paul Pogba.

Both clubs are desperate to secure the highly-rated 18-year-olds signature after his future at Old Trafford became unclear after talks over a new long-term contract stalled.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been a huge admirer of Pogba – dubbed the ‘new Patrick Vieria’- and tracked during his time at French side Le Harve prior to the controversial move that saw him  join old rival Sir Alex Ferguson in Manchester.

The United boss is desperate to hold onto the Frenchman after handing him a competitive debut in Septembers Carling Cup win over Leeds with another appearance against Aldershot coming a month later.

However his contract is reportedly set to come to an end in the summer and will be free to talk to foreign clubs over a possible move from January – something Ferguson is keen to avoid.

Should Pogba decide his footballing future lies elsewhere the Red Devils can expect some form of compensation to ease the blow of losing one of Europe’s most gifted young midfielders.

The teenager won’t be short of suitors with leading Serie A sides AC Milan and Inter already credited with holding an interest in the midfielder and have now been joined by Arsenal and Chelsea in the race for his signature.
