The futures of Cesc Fabregas and Carlos Tevez continue to be discussed while Real Madrid have joined the race to sign highly rated Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell according to this week’s transfer gossip columns.
If there are people out there who are counting the amount of times they see the ‘Fabregas to Barcelona’ story then here’s another example for you! Monday’s Daily Mirror said that Barcelona are refusing to give up hope in signing the Arsenal captain and are willing to test the club’s resolve by offering £38 million for the Spaniard in the summer. The same paper also claimed on Tuesday that Samir Nasri could also be on his way to the Nou Camp if Arsenal win the title this year.
The future of Manchester City Carlos Tevez was discussed once again with the player’s controversial agent Kia Joorabchian claiming earlier in the week that the striker would be happy to rejoin Brazilian side Corinthians in the next few years. Joorabchian later clarified his statement by saying that his client would definitely remain in Europe for at least another three seasons. However Tevez’s manager Roberto Mancini is unsure of whether his star man will be at the club season. The Italian said “It is impossible to know what will happen in the future. I hope Carlos can continue to play here.”
Chelsea could offload full back Jose Bosingwa according to the Daily Mail with Juventus reportedly prepared to offer £10 million for the Portuguese man. However, one man who won’t be leaving West London in the summer is Daniel Sturridge. The young forward has impressed since joining Bolton on loan in January but Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has ruled out his sale. The Italian was quoted in the Daily Star saying, ‘I hope he can score more and then in the summer he will come back.’
Liverpool are seemingly looking for a left back with Chelsea’s Yuri Zhirkov and Celtic’s Emilio Izaguirre linked to the club this week. The Metro said that Zhirkov could join the Reds if he doesn’t break into the first team at Chelsea while according to the Daily Mirror, Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish was keeping his eyes on Izaguirre when he attended Celtic’s game against Rangers on the weekend.
Everton’s battle to keep Jack Rodwell gets tougher with Real Madrid becoming the latest club to be interested in signing the young midfielder according to the Daily Mail. The paper claims that Jose Mourinho has instructed his scouts to compile a dossier on the Everton star.
Lastly, West Ham could secure a permanent deal for Victor Obinna according to talkSPORT. The Nigerian is currently on loan from Inter Milan but the forward said that he will be a free agent in the summer after Inter decided not to renew his contract.
