PSG competing with Manchester United for playmakers signature

Ferguson's Manchester United will face PSG for Gaitan's signatureFrench Ligue 1 side PSG are believed to be ready to compete with Manchester United for the signature of Benfica playmaker Nicolas Gaitan.

The French side have found new wealth recently leading the club to target players PSG would not necessarily have been linked with in the past. The agent of Gaitan recently suggested that talks between Manchester United and Benfica had taken place but that nothing had been agreed thus far however reports suggest that PSG are also in talks with the Portuguese side as they look to find a replacement for their latest signing Javier Pastore who has not settled in the French capital.

Gaitan has impressed recently and proved effective against the Premiership Champions in their respective Champions League group clashes, a group that the Old Trafford side could not negotiate their way past third place.

With PSG now having the cash to offer mega money deals it will certainly give Benfic and the player some food for thought, and Manchester United, once a side who could almost hand pick players, will face steady competition from Paris for the highly rated attacker.
