PSG playmaker to become subject of Chelsea swap offer

Following a rocky relationship with young manager, Andre Villas Boas, Chelsea may decide to sell Frank Lampard this summer as part of a player plus cash deal.

The proposed offer would see Lampard link back up with former Chelsea helmsman, Carlo Ancelotti, at PSG while Javier Pastore would come in the opposite direction.

Villas Boas – who is just one year Lampard’s elder – has failed to impress greatly in his debut season at the West London outfit and many are reporting that the Portuguese boss may not hold onto his job should Chelsea fail to qualify for the Champions League.

Lampard has himself commented that his relationship with his relatively new manager “has not been ideal”, making a summer exit from the club a possibility should his boss remain at Stamford Bridge for the next campaign.

Pastore has been associated with a move to the Premier League outfit in the past and were apparently inches away from his signature before opting for a move to oil-rich Paris Saint-Germain.

The attacking midfielder has made 29 appearances for the Ligue 1 side this season, scoring ten goals and making four assists.

The Argentine looks assured to seal Champions League football for next season; a factor which could have a massive bearing on whether or not he makes the summer move to England, considering Chelsea aren’t quite as certain of European football.

Nobody need profess to Lampard’s club credentials but the 33 year-old currently sits as the Blues’ top scorer for this season so far and is undoubtedly revered as a legend by some.

The proposed move would depend largely on financials in a transfer between two of the world’s richest sides, however PSG would be seeking a large return on their £35m signature, who was signed just last summer and has four years remaining on his supposedly lucrative contract.
