Carlo Ancelotti and Leonardo have bought wisely with the arrival of the talismatic Beckham, increasing the profile of the Paris club tenfold as they seek the Ligue 1 title. What Zlatan Ibramhimovic will make of the signing remains to be seen however.
As they sit level on points with Marseille right now, this is a huge game for PSG and they have to be at their best to win here as Alain Casanova’s Toulouse side haven’t lost in four at home.
The side from the capital should be buoyant however are at 5/6 to win this one which looks plenty big enough to get involved with.
It should be a cracking way to kick-start the weekend.
On Saturday, Lorient and Rennes meet in the early kick-off and it is a big battle in the fight for fourth place.
At the moment, Rennes sit in fourth and Lorient are down in eighth, but there are just two points separating these two, so there is plenty at stake.
Troyes sit in the bottom three and they make the journey to Lille on Saturday evening knowing they need a result. If you fancy Troyes to cause an upset, they are at 9/2.
Lille have lost their last two, which has seen them slip down into eleventh and they will look to this game as one to regain their form.
Brest and Nice also lock horns and the latter might be the favourites for this one as they sit in the top six, whereas the former are just four points clear of the drop zone. In this Ligue 1 season though, form has gone out of the window in some games.
Bordeaux have lost just three times in the league this season and they Valenciennes this weekend, who have slipped into the bottom half following a poor run of results.
Bastia take on Evian, whilst Sochaux and Saint Etienne also meet on Saturday evening. Both Sochaux and Evian are desperate for points at the moment as they hover just above the bottom three, but also know they are in for a tough 90 minutes against two strong Ligue 1 sides.
Moving onto Sunday, Lyon can either move level, or overhaul PSG, depending on their result on Saturday when they head to Ajaccio.
Lyon have surprised a few with their performances this season and they come into this one in fine form as they have won three of their last four. Lyon are decent value at 10/9 to win here.
Ajaccio haven’t won in five, so might be dreading this one somewhat.
Then, Montpellier and Reims go head-to-head and the away side are desperate for a result as they sit in 18th place right now.
Despite Montpellier not being as strong as they were last season, they will still expect to win this one comfortably.
Finally, Marseille can stay within touching distance of the top two when they entertain bottom of the table Nancy.
It should be a routine victory for the home side, but as we have seen many times in this fascinating league, you never know what can happen in a match.
If Marseille perform how they can, then they should improve their goal difference significantly on Sunday evening and they are at 7/15 to claim all three points.
