Reports have suggested that Queens Park Rangers are close to signing Shaun Wright-Phillips after a deal was agreed.
Following a host of big name arrivals at Manchester City, the 29-year-old has slipped down the pecking order and is eager to leave Eastlands to find first team football. Wright-Phillips is a proven player in the Premier League and has gone on to represent England at the World cup, therefore has attracted a host of top flight clubs.
Competition for the winger has become fierce with both QPR and Stoke tabling bids on Friday; however Neil Warnock’s side have now become favourites to sign him as talks are undergoing between themselves and City.
It has been speculated that an agreement has been reached, whilst Wright-Phillips is also keen to join the new boys where he would team up with former City team-mate Joey Barton, whom signed a four-year deal at Loftus Road on Friday.
