Reports are suggesting that QPR boss, Neil Warnock, is keen to complete a deal for Saints winger, Jason Puncheon.
The 25 year-old spent the second-half of last season on loan to Blackpool, and after being pushed out of the Southampton setup, looks set for a return to the Premier League.
It’s understood that QPR already made an offer for the midfielder, with Kaspars Gorkss moving in the opposite direction as part of any deal.
Warnock was also keen on Newcastle wing, Wayne Routledge, but after news emerged that fellow new boys, Swansea City, had gained his signature, the manager was forced to divert his attention elsewhere.
“He’s someone who has done really well, he’s exactly the sort of player I like, he’s pacy and direct, someone with something to prove, a player with a bit of hunger. We need players like that at QPR this season,” Warnock told London24.
The QPR boss added: “He’s a player we’ve been looking at, so now we need to see what happens in the next 10 days or so.”
