QPR stealing interest in Premier League forward

After it emerged that the forward was likely to leave during this transfer window, it seems as if QPR have stolen a march in the race to sign Hugo Rodallega.

It’s recently been revealed that Wigan rejected a QPR bid for their striker a matter of days ago but Mark Hughes’ side are now pondering whether to go back in for the player with another offer.

Fulham are also interested in the Colombian’s signature and Roberto Martinez has refused to deny that Rodallega will leave the DW Stadium this week.

The 26 year-olds contract is set to expire in the summer and rather than lose Rodallega on a free transfer, Martinez is understandably hoping to sell his attacker today.

Since Tony Fernandes’ takeover of the West London outfit, QPR have been linked with moves for a whole host of forwards including Andy Johnson, Didier Drogba and even Carlos Tevez.

However, it now seems likely that the side will capture Lazio frontman Djibril Cissé, with the Frenchman set to undergo a medical at Loftus Road today before sealing a £4m deal.

With this in mind, it’s unknown whether the Hoops will go back in for £4.5m-rated Rodallega, running the risk of having too many players in the position and being unable to offer playing time to those already at the club.

Although we can’t predict how transfer activity will run at Loftus Road, we can be assured that there will be new faces joining ‘Sparky’s’ revolution in the next 24 hours.
