QPR attacker Adel Taarabt is hoping that his career can flourish once again under new boss Mark Hughes and that the Welshman’s arrival signals a fresh start.
The Moroccan international recently revealed that had Neil Warnock stayed as manager of the West London side for the duration of the January transfer window, he probably would have accepted a winter exit.
Hughes is evidently pleased with Taarabt following his return from the African Cup of Nations and despite the Hoops eventually losing 2-1 to visitors Wolves, the manager was impressed by the 22 year-old.
Speaking to QPR Player last week, Taarabt stated: “He’s a great manager. He told me, ‘You’re a fantastic player and I am here to get you on the ball and we want to play football’.”
The youngster was being heavily linked with a move to PSG but seems intent on staying at Loftus Road now, adding: “The last couple of months was disappointing for me because I didn’t show what I know I can do. But now, a new manager and a new start for me.”
The attacking midfielder is contracted to the Hoops until the summer of 2013 but could very well earn an extension in the next six months, dissuading any rumours associating the player with an exit from QPR.
Taarabt has made just 14 starts for the Premier League side this season but will undoubtedly feature for the club on a more frequent basis after enduring a rocky relationship with former manager Neil Warnock.
