QPR manager, Neil Warnock, is poised to sign Newcastle midfielder, Joey Barton, on a three-year deal worth £60,000-a-week.
Barton has one year left to run on his current contract at Tyneside, and is available on a free transfer after the Newcastle hierarchy decided they would not be handing him an extension.
QPR’s new manager, Tony Fernandes, is ready to inject some much needed money into the club, and will have to pay around £3m-a-year to satisfy Barton’s contract.
The playmaker will now be fighting for Premier League survival with the Hoops in exchange for the lucrative new deal.
