QPR ramp up interest in Tottenham misfit

As the club seek to improve their squad once more in the January transfer window, QPR ae understood to be looking at Niko Kranjcar as a possible solution to some of their creative issues and are preparing a winter move for the midfielder.

The Croatian international has fallen out of favour at White Hart Lane this season, making just ten appearances in all competitions for the North London side, leading ruours to surface regarding his exit from the club.

QPR aren’t alone their pursuit of the playmaker either with Sunderland and Fulham as well as numerous European outfits said to be tracking his situation.

The Hoops have shown decent ambition in their transfer attempts since Mark Hughes took over the reins of the club but despite making numerous offers in attempts to bolster their squad options, Taye Taiwo is the only signature for the side so far this month, arriving on a loan transfer earlier in the week.

Relatively new owner of the West London club, Tony Fernandes, has been the driving force behind the club’s newfound aspirations which includes promising Hughes a supposed January transfer kitty of over £20m.

The Malaysian businessman’s takeover kickstarted a flood of signings in August 2011 and the Formula One fanatic will be hoping to influence a similar influx of new faces this month.

Kranjcar has shown his potential for great creativity during his time at Portsmouth but has failed to shine as brightly with Tottenham, finding himself slightly overwhelmed by the supreme talent at the club.

Harry Redknapp has stated that he wishes for nobody to leave his side in Janaury, but should a club meet Kranjcar’s £5.5m asking price, the Spurs boss may be tempted to sell his hardly involved midfielder.
