Reports are suggesting the Queen’s Park Rangers are the latest club to show interest in acquiring Manchester United midfielder, Darron Gibson, during the January transfer window.
A number of clubs were already said to be monitoring the progress of Gibson including Aston Villa, Fulham and Blackburn Rovers.
The Irishman has spent the last seven years at United after finishing his youth development with the club in 2005.
However, Gibson has failed to make the grade at Old Trafford and found himself limited to a handful of substitute appearances over recent months.
The 24 year-old has shown his potential for creative play on a number of occasions playing with the Premier League champions as well as gaining a reputation for testing goalkeepers from long range.
Gibson has only six months remaining on his Old Trafford contract and the Red Devils will be expected to cash in on the playmaker in the coming window, rather than lose him on a free transfer in the summer.
Hoops owner Tony Fernandes has made numerous statements regarding his commitment to the progress of his club as well as the kind of money he is willing to inject into the side.
Although Gibson’s £3m price-tag is less than Rangers’ fans will be hoping to see, the Republic of Ireland international could shine for the London outfit who are looking to survive in the top flight.
Neil Warnock will face stern competition from Aston Villa in their pursuit of Gibson, as the Villans have made no secret of their desire to sign the Manchester United fringe player.
