Rangers manager, Ally McCoist, remains confident that the club can sign David Goodwillie, despite news that the Dundee United striker is on the verge of a move to Blackburn Rovers.
The Glasgow club had a fourth bid rejected by Dundee United on Monday, failing to meet the club’s valuation for the forward.
Blackburn’s offer includes an initial fee of £2m plus a further £800,000 in add-ons.
McCoist, speaking to the Daily Record, stated: “Until someone tells me he has signed for Blackburn, I will be hoping we can get him, there’s no doubt.”
The Rangers boss added: “There’s a little bit of work to be done and obviously Blackburn have put in a bid that’s been accepted by Dundee United, but we are still in negotiations.”
