Jay Tabb is set to miss the Royals’ first two games of the season thanks to suspension.
The midfielder was sent off at half time in May’s Championship play-off final defeat to Swansea, after he allegedly made a comment to an official regarding a penalty Swansea were given in the first half.
Nigel Gibbs, another member of the Reading staff, also saw red during the match for a similar offence, but will see no suspension.
The 27 year-old winger will miss Reading’s first home league game against Millwall, as well as his team’s Carling Cup first round match against Charlton.
