Real Madrid keen to bag Aston Villa ace

Ashley Young is reported to be wanted by Real Madrid now tooReports from Spain claim that Spanish giants Real Madrid are the latest team interested in the signature of Ashley Young. The 25 year-old winger has been linked with several top clubs in England, but there are also rumours flying around that a move abroad could be possible.

Young has made 34 appearances for the West Midlands outfit this season, scoring a below-par eight goals in that time. He also has only one year left on his contract at the end of the current campaign, so is said to be available for around £16m.

Originally from Stevenage, Young came to The Villans in January 2007 for an £8m fee. Since then, he has gone on to make a name for himself as a versatile midfielder who operates well in attack. He is capable of using both feet and can play on both sides of the pitch.

Real will be looking to build their squad again this summer, after seeing themselves ejected from the Champion’s League this Tuesday by Spanish rivals Barcelona. After spending the best part of £300m over the past two years, the valuation of Young will hardly scare them off, and the sunnier climates of Madrid could prove tempting for the England international.
