After suffering a devastating defeat to Atletico last weekend, Real Madrid will be looking to bounce back against Levante one week on.

After the 1-0 loss, Real Madrid now sit 5 points off the lead as they sit in a rather lonely 3rd place despite it still being early in the season.

Gareth Bale’s injury problems in Spain continue as the Welshman re-aggravated a thigh strain which has ruled him out for another two weeks for the club.

It means that Angel Di Maria is likely to start in Bale’s place and help provide service to Cristiano Ronaldo who could top the scoring charts should he score a brace on Saturday.

This will be no easy task though as Levante has a good defensive record at the moment having kept 3 clean sheets in the first 7 games and have steadily rose to 7th in the table.

Levante have steadily built up a side full of recognisable names and experienced players with the likes of Papa Bouba Diop and Simao having been at the top of European football for the last decade or so.

Despite not playing for Real, these players know what it takes to upset the big sides and will certainly be hoping that they are just as strong upfront as they have been at the back.

Further along the Mediterranean coast, Barcelona will be hoping to maintain their gap over Real by beating a struggling Real Valladolid at the Nou Camp on Saturday night.

Gerardo Martino has still maintained a 100% record this season despite having several injuries that have left several big gaps within the first team.

The latest player to have succumbed to the injury crisis is Lionel Messi who has been ruled out for the next 2-3 weeks with a hamstring injury sustained last week against Almeria.

He joins several other big names such as Carles Puyol, Jordi Alba and Javier Mascherano on the sidelines to see whether the Champions can continue with their momentum.

For Valladolid, the season has not been too memorable as they have only accumulated 6 points from the first 7 games and are sitting 16th in the table.

Valladolid are going through an injury crisis of their own though with 6 players out injured including Victor Perez and Valdet Rama who have both picked up injuries in the last week.

It seems that Real has the tougher of the two sides with Carlo Ancelotti knowing that he can’t afford to lose any more ground to Barcelona in the title race so early on.
