Real Madrid to pip Liverpool and Arsenal to Belgian midfielder

It seems Eden Hazard would prefer a sun tan and some quality time on the bench rather than a proper footballing campaign in the PremiershipSince Eden Hazard last month spoke of his wish to play in Spain above that of the Premier League, Real Madrid have now put their transfer plan on paper and will look to take action, and take the young Belgian midfielder to the La Liga giants during the summer.

The quotes from Hazard himself will not have made easy reading for both Liverpool and Arsenal fans as it was rumoured he could be moving to either, with a transfer to Arsenal apparently the likeliest.

“I appreciate England a lot, Germany as well, but my characteristics respond more to Spanish football, furthermore, this country corresponds to my temperament, the heat and the beautiful stadiums.”

Whilst the above comes from The Sun, it still seems like the player has his heart set on some Spanish sun rather than English rain meaning the Bernabeu will be the one club that will suit him.

The issue for Hazard however, despite his obvious talents, is that he is still only 20 years old and breaking into the Real Madrid first XI is probably tougher than breaking into either Liverpool or Arsenal, but the youngster will have to be prepared for long spells on the touchline.

Another confusing aspect of his decision is that he already plays in France, not a country famous for it’s blistering weather unless you are right down in the South and in fact, they are probably on a par with us in the UK where rain is concerned. The football in France has possibly much more in common with the UK than the slow languid passing style that almost bores us each week seen in La Liga, unless we see Lionel Messi running past second rate defenders which let’s be honest, most can probably do when others practically just stare at you with the ball at your feet. Just look at how well Arsenal coped with him and they are forever getting stick for their defending!

Nonetheless, the youngster may prefer Spain, that is up to him and there is little that Arsenal or Liverpool will be able to do about it. Although I am sure a personal visit from Mr Wenger may just show the youngster that the grass is not always greener in Spain, despite the weather.
