The Italian club, Inter Milan have made a bid of around €10m for Liverpool’s Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva and the Reds are not totally averse to the idea of selling the player this month for the right price.
As, Lucas found it hard to break into Brendan Rodgers’ team towards the beginning of the season, but of late he has played a crucial part in Liverpool’s recent run of good form.
The Italian side have been keeping tabs on Lucas’ situation at Anfield for some time now, but Rodgers was believed not to be interested in selling the midfielder this month.
But according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, the Liverpool manager is rethinking his position on the 28-year-old midfielder after receiving Inter’s offer of around €10m for the Brazilian.
Despite the fact, the Brazilian is an important part of Liverpool’s squad at the moment. The club hierarchy is not entirely against the idea of selling Lucas in the winter transfer window. Now after Inter backing their interest with a substantial offer, Rodgers has been forced to again contemplate selling the Brazilian and pocketing the money this month.
The former Manchester City gaffer, Roberto Mancini is keen on having the experienced midfielder in his squad for the second half of the season and it remains to be seen whether Liverpool eventually decide to sell the player this winter.
